    Playing Catch-Up with Equality

How many ‘get back in the kitchen’ style jokes have you had in your adult life? Maybe it was the generation I was born in to or just the things that I was exposed to when I was younger. It was still quite a male-dominated world at the beginning of the ’80s and I am not sure I realised that. There are numerous well-meant jokes and comments said between friends and even family that continue to compound harmful and hurtful stereotypes. There was a lot of talk about women’s rights but how much had really changed? It was more just the beginning of a dialogue that was to set a…

    Dealing with Impostor Syndrome

Ooooh no, I can’t do that, I am definitely not good enough! How many times have you thought that to yourself? It’s something that affects us all, for some reason, there is an invisible measuring stick that dictates what a person must have behind them to do the thing that they excel at. Learning to Find Forgiveness

Life chucks us interesting scenarios sometimes doesn’t it?! When it does, it is sometimes difficult for us to see the lesson to be learnt. Sometimes the lesson is just to forgive. We may not understand their anger but if they are willing to do the work to find why…

They just make you furious and as much as you think you are developing as a person and feeling all zen, that person puts you right back to basic. I know that I have had people in my life that just make my blood boil, yup reality check, I fell off my meditation cushion, bruised my ego and remembered I’m human and I have a whole bunch of work still to do!Now there is no excuse for someone to bully, be cruel, unkind or rude, that is…

When Life Suddenly Feels Like a Straight Jacket!

That feeling of the outside just crushing in on you and you cant breathe! Yeah that’s overwhelm. It kind of comes from nowhere, you’ll be going about life doing you, days or week may pass and you will be fine but then out of nowhere it all just seems a lot. All the spaces you normally give yourself to breathe are becoming smaller and the tasks you find liberating are now feeling constricting. Suddenly life feels like a straight jacket and your motivation to get up in the morning is nowhere to be seen. On the outside we look the same way we did yesterday but today maybe something happened…
